PITTSTON TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An early morning fire destroyed a home in Luzerne County and left one person displaced on Thursday.

Officials say the fire broke out around 3:00 a.m. at a home on Laurel Street in Pittston Township. A man who lived in the house was outside when crews arrived.

A water main break around the time of the fire made fighting the flames difficult, as firefighters had to pump water from a source 1,000 feet away, crews stated.
