This is the tenth year for the event. Last year alone the region donated 70,000 toys benefiting local families, all thanks to a special group.
Fighting back one pink pierogi at a time
BERWICK, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The community is rallying behind a local woman battling breast cancer one pink pierogi at a time.
More than 200 dozen pink pierogies were sold Saturday in Berwick to benefit Kim Nespoli and her family.
Nespoli was diagnosed with breast cancer eight years ago and beat the disease only for it to come back and spread.
All of the proceeds will be going towards her medical bills. The pierogies were made by Mom and Pop's Pierogies in Wilkes-Barre.

SHAMOKIN — St. Michael’s Orthodox Church in Mount Carmel made a $750 donation to Central Susquehanna Opportunities Inc. (CSO) in support of the “Keep Our Kids Warm” program. This longstanding partnership between the church and CSO helps children in need have access to warm coats during the harsh winter months.

South Creek Volunteer Ambulance Association stated that the Bradford County Coroner responded to the scene of a crash along Route 14 in around 9:00 a.m
The coroner stated that both 29-year-old Rebecca High, from Troy, and her passenger 29-year-old Skyler Drake, also from Troy died at the scene of the crash.

According to Lackawanna County Center for Public Safety, a call came in around 5:00 a.m. for a reported structure fire at 820 Capouse Avenue.
Crews say when they got on-scene, flames were shooting from the roof, but was contained and wrapped up within the hour.
