Last week, the shelter was forced to close because of a staffing shortage, and that was a problem because St. Anthony's Haven is the only overnight shelter, not including emergency shelters, in the area.
People looking for a warm place to sleep at St. Anthony's Haven were inside and taken care of at 7:00 p.m. Thursday.

Workers at Habitat for Humanity were at a home they were going to rehabilitate when they saw bags of clothes among the many abandoned contents in the house.
STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Families in need in northeastern Pennsylvania and families in North Carolina who were victims of this year's hurricane will still have a magical holiday thanks to a local organization.
Operation Christmas Wish had the biggest gift-giving event in its 12-year history, giving gifts to local children at Stroudsmoor Terraview Inn, along with dinner for the families.
The organization gave gifts to 110 children and will be shipping gifts to another 30 children in North Carolina.
SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — In a unanimous vote Monday night, the Scranton School Board voted yes on officially bringing back a preschool program.
The fight to bring the preschool program back to Scranton School District is over.
It's official. The Scranton Preschool Program is coming back this January.
"Starting in January to bring full-day four-year-old head start pre-k programming into the district. This is a big step, this aligns with our recovery plan," said Scranton School District Superintendent Dr. Erin Keating.
