What's open and closed on Veterans Day?

FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Veterans Day is an annual U.S. federal holiday observed Nov. 11 to honor those who have served in our nation's armed forces.

While many businesses remain open on Veterans Day – and treat veterans and service members with deals and freebies – some things will be interrupted.

United States Postal Service

USPS offices will be closed on Monday in observance of the holiday. There will be no regular mail delivery, caller service or P.O. Box service. Operations will go back to normal on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

9 displaced after McAdoo fire

McADOO, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A fire leaves nine people without a home on Sunday in McAdoo.

The fire broke out shortly before 7:00 p.m. on the 100 block of West Sherman Street.

One in custody after Saint Clair shooting

Flames shot through the roof as several fire departments worked to bring the fire under control.

No one was hurt, and the Red Cross is helping the family of nine in this Schuylkill County fire.

Holidays closing in with Moscow Christmas Bazaar

MOSCOW, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Some more holiday shopping this weekend as Christmas Day creeps closer.

The Altar and Rosary Society of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Moscow held its Annual Christmas Bazaar.

Guests had the opportunity to visit a variety of vendor tables.

All sorts of holiday crafts, Christmas decorations, and homemade foods from the church's newly remodeled kitchen were for sale.

Visitors checked out more than 100 raffle baskets that were up for grabs.

Holiday Marketplace carries on legacy in Clarks Summit

CLARKS SUMMIT, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A local holiday marketplace is keeping a tradition alive while carrying on a legacy.

Abington Community Library in Clarks Summit hosted its 15th annual Dorothy Boccella holiday marketplace this weekend.

Shoppers were able to buy a variety of items from more than 30 vendors and also purchase tickets for a chance to win one of the more than 100 raffle baskets.

Boccella was a former library employee who started the marketplace to raise money for the library while supporting local businesses.
