Man sentenced after teen dies of fentanyl-laced cocaine

(WBRE/WYOU) — A man has been sentenced after authorities say he sold a 17-year-old fentanyl laced with cocaine, resulting in their death.

According to Acting U.S. Attorney John C. Gurganus, 30-year-old Federico Rosario of Scranton was sentenced to 24 years for distributing a controlled substance and drug distribution resulting in death.

In July of 2021, officials say Rosario sold small quantities of cocaine to a 17-year-old, and then in August of 2021, Rosario sold the victim .4 grams of a substance represented to be cocaine.
