Officials release details on EBT outage

(WBRE/WYOU) — 28/22 News is learning more about the EBT outages that briefly prevented millions of Pennsylvanians from buying food.

The EBT system is how people access their SNAP food benefits.

The system went down more than once during the past week, most recently on Monday night for a little less than an hour.

New Jersey-based Conduent said its technicians addressed the "brief" outages quickly.

That flooding hit mostly in lower-lying areas, impacting many homes and roads.

Act Out Theatre Group on South Main Street in Taylor has been in this location since 2022.

The owner says they dealt with regular flooding at their old location in Dunmore, but never here.

Inside, at least an inch of water covered the floor, damaging carpets, costumes, and other equipment.

Residents in Blakely got to ask questions to developers and air their concerns about the proposed data sites.

So many people showed up to the Blakely Borough building on Wednesday that even 30 minutes before the meeting started, the seats were filled, and that crowd poured out into the parking lot.
