Pocono Raceway joins AG for drug take-back weekend

LONG POND, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It's the big race weekend at Pocono Raceway, and it's also a Drug Take Back weekend at the Raceway.

Race fans can bring their unused or outdated prescription drugs to the track, where they will be collected and safely destroyed at a later date.  

Pennsylvania Attorney General's office and Pocono Raceway officials are teaming up for the drug collection effort.

The mission is to help fight the opioid epidemic in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The I-Team's Andy Mehalshick reports live on 28/22 News.

Aflac discloses cybersecurity incident

(The Hill) -- Aflac said Friday that it experienced a cybersecurity incident last week that may have impacted files containing social security numbers, health information and other personal information.  

The insurance company first detected suspicious activity on its network last Thursday and “promptly initiated our cyber incident response protocols and stopped the intrusion within hours,” according to a press release.

But now, thanks to partnerships in the Poconos and even our news station, part of NEPA will be spotlighted on the racetrack for all to see.

At Pocono Raceway, the energy is electrifying as fans and drivers are getting ready for three series. The Craftsman Truck Series Friday, the Xfinity Series Saturday, and the big NASCAR Cup Series Sunday.
