Trooper shot in ambush released from hospital

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — On Tuesday, the second trooper involved in last Thursday's ambush in Susquehanna County was released from the hospital.

It was a special moment outside of a Scranton hospital to honor him and support his recovery.

A crowd started to form around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday outside of Geisinger CMC in Scranton, and by 1:00 p.m., everyone was lined up to see Trooper Perechinsky walk out of those doors.

Painting parade line for upcoming Pittston Tomato Festival

PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Tomato Capital of the World is gearing up for its Annual Tomato Festival.

Representatives from M. Mayo striping painted a red line down Main Street in Pittston, while red tomatoes were spray-painted along the route.

The marks will line the way for the 42nd Tomato Festival, starting next Thursday.

Funeral held for 13-year-old allegedly killed by foster parent

WEATHERLY, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — 13-year-old Jacob Delgadillo was laid to rest on Tuesday after police say he was killed by his foster parent more than a week ago.

Several area first responders came out to the Faith Church in Weatherly to give Delgadillo a proper send-off.

A somber scene in Weatherly as a 13-year-old Jacob Delgadillo's remains were carried out of Faith Church by his siblings on Tuesday.
