A canceled wedding turns into a community event

LENOX TOWNSHIP, SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A wedding cancellation turned into a community celebration in Susquehanna County Friday afternoon.

28/22 News reporter Amelia Sack stopped by the event.

After one woman's wedding was called off, she decided to put a positive spin on the situation and host a different kind of celebration.

"It is a beautiful day. Everybody thought it was gonna rain and then what do you know? So it makes it even more special," expressed Scranton resident Elizabeth Altier.

New law could legalize fortune telling in PA.

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A bill in the Pennsylvania State House could repeal a century-old ban on fortune telling, but some say the law is outdated and misunderstands what many modern spiritual practitioners, like tarot readers, actually do.

Right now in Pennsylvania, fortune telling is technically illegal, but those in the spiritual community say not everyone using tools like tarot cards is trying to tell the future.
