State police, AG investigation at local healthcare center

NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police were seen at Lakewood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center as part of the Attorney General's Office investigation.

Around 11:00 a.m. on October 2, Pennsylvania State Police were at Lakewood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Nanticoke as part of an investigation with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office.

It's apple picking time at Heckman Orchards

“Today we’re going to do roughly around a thousand gallons of cider,” explained Mark Heckman, co-owner of Heckman Orchards.

Man accused of stabbing officer and threatening his life

FACTORYVILLE, WYOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report a man has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed an officer in the face, then threatened to kill him.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, on October 1, around 6:00 p.m., officers from the Dalton Boro Police Department were dispatched to College Avenue in Factoryville for a reported domestic dispute.

While investigating, PSP stated Devan M. Fenton, 37, attacked an officer with a kitchen knife, resulting in several stab wounds to his face, arms, and hands.

Missing Pa. pilot found dead

YOUNG TWP., JEFFERSON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police were searching for a pilot who took off in his aircraft and has since been found dead.

Troopers searched for 75-year-old David Edward Wittmer, who took off in his ultralight aircraft Wednesday evening in Indiana County.

The Hazleton Police Department reports that they are investigating several incidents in which individuals have stolen jewelry from students walking home from school.
