Penn State Board of Trustees removes member, preventing reelection

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (WTAJ) — After months of legal battle, the majority of the Penn State Board of Trustees voted to remove one of its members two weeks before the end of his term.

The board voted 30-4 in a special meeting Monday, June 16, to remove Barry Fenchak from the trustees. According to the trustee bylaws, being voted out now renders Fenchak ineligible to "stand for election or serve again as a Trustee; such prohibition is to be permanent."

Truck crashes into credit union lobby in Scranton

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A credit union in Scranton is closed until further notice after a truck crashed through the front doors and into its lobby Tuesday morning.

Crews were called to the Penn East Federal Credit Union in the 700 block of Davis Street just before 10:00 a.m. for a report of a truck in the lobby.

A representative for the credit union told 28/22 News that employees were in the building when the crash occurred, but was unsure if any customers were inside at the time. No one inside was injured.

Meth lab investigation results in 17 counts of rape

SAYRE, BRADFORD COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man has pled guilty to 17 counts of rape and other related charges, along with operating a meth lab.

According to the Bradford County Criminal Court, Sean Robert Hall, 45 of Sayre, pled guilty to multiple charges in March including the rape of 17 different women over a significant period of time.

Plymouth teen accused of using Snapchat to plan killing

Investigators say all of the instances were videotaped by Hall and were found when investigating the methamphetamine laboratory.
