Vice President Harris will make a campaign stop in Pennsylvania Wednesday afternoon, part of her final swing through the battleground states ahead of Election Day.

Harris and her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz have spent a significant amount of time in Pennsylvania, as many experts believe it is perhaps the most critical state for the vice president to win next week. Wednesday's visit marks her first time to the Susquehanna Valley this election cycle.

Five vehicle crash with injuries on I-81

LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — There is a report of a crash involving five vehicles on the Interstate 81/Casey Highway split Wednesday afternoon.

Lackawanna County Communication Center stated the crash happened in the northbound lanes around 3:40 p.m. and there are injuries reported.

Officials say they don't know the extent of the injuries as first responders have yet to arrive on the scene.

Man accused of stealing laptops from Edwardsville store

EDWARDSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating a series of laptops stolen from an Edwardsville store.

According to the Edwardsville Police Department, the man pictured is a suspect who allegedly stole laptops from Name Brand Liquidations in the Gateway Shopping Center on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Police say each computer is valued at $900, however, they did not say the amount of laptops stolen.

Monroe County investigating alleged voter fraud

MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — 28/22 News is learning more on Wednesday about an ongoing voter fraud investigation in Monroe County.

That investigation centers on about 30 voter registration and mail-in ballot applications that were red-flagged as fraudulent.

Monroe County election officials tell 28/22 News they noticed a pattern of fraudulent information.

In one case, the voter application form was filled out with the name of a person who is deceased.

Electric City Aquarium ordered to pay $66K to former employee

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC) has ordered Electric City Aquarium to pay over $66,000 to a former employee after they say they were fired in retaliation for reporting harassment.

PHRC has ordered Electric City Aquarium & Reptile Den, located in Scranton, to pay $66,268.03 to a former employee who officials say was fired in retaliation for reporting sexual harassment by a co-worker to the Human Resources Department.
