$2M grant awarded towards Community Recreational Campus

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials state a grant has been awarded to the Paul and Lisa DeAngelo Family Foundation from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) towards a Community Recreational Campus.

According to the press release, a two million dollar grant was awarded to the Paul and Lisa DeAngelo Family Foundation from RACP to be used for the expansion of the Paul and Lisa DeAngelo Family Foundation’s vision for a Community Recreational Campus.

Community Recreational Campus will be an indoor and outdoor sports complex, as stated in the release.

Crews discover headstones from 1972 Agnes Flood

FORTY FORT, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Crews discovered the headstones on Thursday during construction for the Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority`s Abrahams Creek restoration project.

WVSA contractor Rutledge Construction uncovered about 35 headstones about 300 feet from the Forty Fort Cemetery.

Officials say that the headstones were washed away from the 1972 Agnes Flood that washed away an entire section of Forty Fort Cemetery.
