20 years of jazz history brings music to Scranton

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The Scranton Jazz Festival kicked off Friday.

Organizers say what started as a one day festival with a few hundred people has evolved into a three day celebration with thousands making their way downtown.

28/22's Avery Nape has been in the Electric City all night.

Thousands of people are expected to be here throughout the weekend.

Between the crowds, the music, and the different venues, the festival has given Scranton an almost big city feel.

DEP identifies source of raw sewage leaking into Lake Harmony

KIDDER TOWNSHIP, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — For the past few months, raw sewage has been leaking into a lagoon which flows into Lake Harmony and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection says it came from a pump station at a popular resort in the Poconos.

"Every flush, every shower just overflows and fills it into the back of the building," homeowner Victoria Mann claims.
