LUZERNE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — If pumpkins are more your thing then you only need to head to Main Street in Luzerne for the borough's 26th annual Fall Pumpkin Festival.
More than 160 vendors were on hand with everything from craft stands and clothing booths to food trucks and locally sourced produce.
The festival also featured live wood carving, free pumpkin decorating, and live music. The Luzerne Merchants Association hosted the event.
Taking a run through history in Forty Fort
Organizers estimate total attendance to be in the thousands.

FORTY-FORT, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The weather could not be better for runners to take part in a first-of-its-kind run.
The Forty Fort Cemetery Association hosted its inaugural Run/Walk Through History. 370 runners had the option of doing a 5k or a 10k.
The course started at the historic Forty Fort Cemetery and took participants down River Street onto the Levee and back to the cemetery.
Semi-Annual Weatherly Hill Climb kicked off in Carbon County

WEATHERLY, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — They are off and running in the Poconos for a more than six-decades competition.
The Weatherly Hillclimb kicked off Saturday. It attracts people from all over the country.
Organizers say this year's competition is the largest yet with 107 drivers.
Competitors tackle a one-mile course packed with sharp turns as they race up the hill. Besides the racing action, the event features food from many local vendors.

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The 8th annual welcoming Scranton Celebration was held on Saturday.
It was hosted by the united neighborhood centers of NEPA along with their south-side farmers market.
This organization focuses on community revitalization, education and engagement.
They offer english as a second language courses, citizenship courses, and help local residents in need get housing, clothing and food.
Hundreds gather for the Multi-Cultural Parade

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Saturday morning and into the afternoon the annual Wilkes-Barre Multi-Cultural Parade took place at Public Square where more than 20 ethnic groups were represented through music, food, and dance.
This is the seventh year of the parade and this year's grand marshal says he was honored to hold the title and see all the representation of so many cultures in Luzerne County.

AVOCA, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport, or AVP, was evacuated Saturday morning due to a reported bomb threat.
Director of Marketing and Communications for Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport Eric McKitish stated that around 11:23 a.m. authorities were alerted about a bomb threat at the airport. The threat went unfounded.
Officials say that the Joseph M. McDade Terminal Building along with several other buildings were evacuated.
