Police investigate gunfire in Hazleton

HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police utilized the Raven Gunshot Detection System to locate where a shooting took place in Hazleton.

Police say on March 20, around 5:20 p.m., an officer with the Hazleton Police Department heard gunshots, then used the Raven Gunshot Detection System to locate the shots in the 600 block of North Vine Street.

According to police, when officers arrived there were several vehicles with apparent bullet holes in them and shell casings in the roadway.

According to criminal documents, 39-year-old Corey Sidorek is being charged with theft for allegedly taking ammo from the Dallas Borough Police Department where he was employed for over four years.

Sunday will be the 46th St. Patrick's Parade in the Poconos.

There will be 135 floats this year, bigger than previous years.
