Rodeo riders take over Columbia County

BENTON, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A big crowd, high energy, and a whole lot of dirt. A highly anticipated annual tradition kicked off Tuesday night in one local community.

Every summer, the Benton Rodeo grounds transform into a national stage for riders, and this year, they're celebrating four decades of tradition.

From first-timers to national qualifiers, Tuesday's show gives cowgirls a chance to compete for time and for pride.

Weather Alert: Possible flooding due to thunderstorms

(WBRE/WYOU) — Flood alerts have been issued for several counties across Northeast and Central Pennsylvania.

The following counties are under moderate flood watches: Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Montour, Northern Clinton, Northern Lycoming, Northumberland, Schuylkill, Snyder, Southern Clinton, Southern Lycoming, Sullivan, Union, and Wyoming.

Blackstone to invest $25 billion in PA data centers

(WBRE/WYOU) — Blackstone Infrastructure has announced a $25 billion investment towards developing digital and energy infrastructure in Pennsylvania.

Blackstone Infrastructure and PPL Corporation also announced a partnership to build natural gas generation stations to power data centers in the commonwealth.

Blackstone says it has secured multiple land sites throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania to develop and operate data center sites.

Vice President JD Vance visit to West Pittston

WEST PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Vice-President JD Vance will make a stop in Luzerne County Wednesday to talk about President Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill."

VP Vance will be speaking inside Don’s Machine Shop around 1:00 p.m. There will be speakers before him, including local officials and Congressman Rob Bresnahan.

People started lining up in the early morning to hear Vance.

The Vice President will talk about the "Big Beautiful Bill," which has been the center of controversy.
