Pregnant woman pistol-whipped in Hazleton, suspect at large

HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Hazleton City Police are searching for a man they say pistol-whipped a pregnant woman in the middle of a street, then dragged her inside an apartment.

Police closed off a two-block area near Alter and Second Streets just before noon as they searched for the armed suspect.

Police say it started as a domestic incident and escalated to the pistol-whipping of the woman.

According to the release, Vance will visit West Pittston to deliver remarks following the successful passing and signing of the big beautiful bill.

Autopsies completed on 4 victims of crash near Hazleton

HAZLE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Luzerne County Chief Deputy Coroner Kaitlin Keating tells 28/22 News this Friday morning that autopsies have been done on the four people killed in a crash early Sunday morning on Route 924 near Hazleton.

She says the victims were all male and ranged in age from 23 to 25 and were all from the Hazleton area.

A mother’s plea to find her missing son

They are awaiting further testing to confirm the identities of the victims. She says the families of the victims have been notified.
