How 28/22 News surprised Remarkable Woman 2025 Winner

WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — All throughout March, 28/22 News featured Remarkable Women, and on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., we revealed this year's winner of our Remarkable Women contest.

Lisa Urbanski is the co-founder of Brighter Journeys, a group that helps families with children with special needs.

Lisa was under the weather on Tuesday and joined us by telephone, so her family and friends were in the PA live! Studio for the presentation.

A few weeks ago, it was 28/22 News Anchor Candice Kelly who broke the news that Lisa had won.

Firefighters raise concerns over 911 Centers consolidation

SUNBURY, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The future of Northumberland County's 911 Center is raising concerns among volunteer firefighters. Many attended Tuesday's commissioners meeting to voice their frustrations over a potential merger with neighboring counties.

While commissioners say no decisions have been made, volunteers worry about the cost and impact on emergency response.

The potential consolidation of Northumberland and Schuylkill County 911 centers has volunteer firefighters on edge.
