Dog kennel not allowing visits due to illness

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Visits to the dog kennels at the SPCA of Luzerne County are temporarily suspended due to an illness.

The SPCA announced on Friday that visits, meet-and-greets, and public interactions with the dog kennels would be suspended until further notice due to an upper respiratory illness spreading.

LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two business owners, one from Lackawanna County, have pleaded guilty after investigators say failed to pay employment taxes.

34-year-old Vincent Guntur, of Dunmore, and 65-year-old Angelica Jones, of Hauppauge, New York, owned and operated four companies, Mega & G Inc., Yoagen LLC, Phoenix 89 LLC, and Starlight & Sun Inc. from 2018 through the third quarter of 2024.

Drug bust finds dealer selling in abandoned warehouse, police say

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police report a man has been arrested after a drug bust revealed he was selling crystal meth out of an abandoned warehouse.

Lackawanna County District Attorney Brian J. Gallagher says 44-year-old Earl Locklear of Scranton was arrested after a drug trafficking investigation.

Detectives stated Locklear was squatting in an abandoned warehouse in the 300 block of Olive Street in Scranton, where he would handle his drug sales.

CHESTNUTHILL TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police say a 10-year-old was shot while a man was arguing with the boy's father nearby, with a gun involved.

Police say on September 18, around 8:00 p.m., troopers were called to Orchard View Drive in Chestnuthill Township for an assault involving a gun.
