Local college remembers 9/11 with ceremony

NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Thursday marks 24 years since the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Luzerne County Community College held a ceremony Thursday morning to reflect and remember the events that happened on September 11, 2001.

The ceremony remembered the nearly three thousand lives lost on September 11, 2001.The ceremony included a flag ceremony, the national anthem, pledge of allegiance, an invocation and benediction, and a final alarm ceremony.

30+passengers on school bus during rollover crash

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Emergency crews responded to a report of a school bus rollover Thursday afternoon in Franklin Township and a major road is closed, according to Columbia County Communications Center.

Officials say they responded to the scene of a school bus rollover with entrapment just after 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of Southern Drive and Ashton Hollow Road.

Columbia County Communications Center confirmed that there were thirty-one passengers aboard the school bus at the time of the crash.
