Edwardsville man charged with corruption of minors

KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is charged after two children say he sexually molested them during a camping trip.

47-year-old Joseph Polisky of Edwardsville was arrested Tuesday afternoon.

The Luzerne County District Attorney's Office along with the Kingston Police were contacted after two children reported the assault.

Market Street Bridge closed, police on scene

Police say the children, both under 12, told them Polisky inappropriately touched them while on a camping trip near Harvey's Lake in May of 2020.

Artists, art organizations awarded ARPA grants

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The city of Scranton awarded over $300,000 in grants to 19 visual and performing artists and arts organizations as part of its American Rescue Plan funding.

The grants aim to support artists impacted by the pandemic, including theater companies, musicians, and dancers. Preference was given to Scranton-based groups.

Market Street Bridge open after deadly crash

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Market Street Bridge and River Street in the area of the bridge were closed for hours, causing major traffic delays as police investigated a deadly crash late Tuesday afternoon.

The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department confirmed with 28/22 News the crash has turned deadly and the victim's identity has not been released at this time.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Market Street and River Street shortly before 5:15 p.m.
