RIVERSIDE — More than one hundred people gathered at the river on Saturday to honor Capt. Jacob Gearhart, Revolutionary War hero and leading citizen of early Riverside. At least a dozen of those in attendance were direct descendants of Gearhart or his brother, William, seven generations removed from their arrival here in 1790.
