Borough prepares for annual Cherry Blossom Festival

WEST PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The stage is set in West Pittston for the 54th annual Cherry Blossom Festival.

The event is a favorite for many people in the area, and it's taking the spotlight once again.

That's right the cherry blossom festival is back and better than ever, and this year organizers say they've got lots planned for people to enjoy.

Man charged after allegedly hitting victim with chair

LEHIGH TOWNSHIP, WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A Wayne County man has been charged after allegedly breaking into a home and attacking a person.

55-year-old Thomas Hermann, of Madison Township, is being charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and two counts of Burglary among other charges.

Troopers say that on April 30, they were dispatched to a residence in Lehigh Township after a home invasion with assault had taken place.

Security review of Pennsylvania Governor's Residence following arson attack complete

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -- An independent look into the Governor's Residence security during last month's arson attack has been completed.

Pennsylvania State Police said they received the results of the review conducted by security consultant and former State Police commissioner Jeffrey Miller.
