Arrest made after deadly Stroudsburg shooting

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An arrest has been made after a teen's life was tragically taken this weekend in the Poconos.

According to police, 25-year-old Andrew Quatt-Rochi is facing multiple charges, including criminal homicide in the shooting death of 17-year-old Garrett Gearheart at the Wawa on West Main Street in Stroudsburg Saturday night.

$10,000 grant awarded to the Hazleton Integration Project

TAYLOR, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The holiday season is in full swing as the countdown is underway to Christmas Day.

Hundreds of kids were invited to Lucca's in Taylor for Operation Santa Claus.

The event is normally held at Tobyhanna Army Depot, but the non-profit wanted to make sure schools who had to travel farther could make it.

The event aims to provide children with disabilities the chance to get into the Christmas spirit. The event featured a meet and greet with Santa and Mrs. Claus, music, gifts, and food.

CAC takes part in Giving Tuesday in Scranton

The Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) of NEPA is taking part to generate funds for their causes.

For part of their Season of Giving campaign, the CAC hopes to raise much-needed funds to allow them to continue their efforts in providing children affected by abuse with support, advocacy, and healing.

PennDOT highlights NEPA completed projects in Dunmore

DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — PennDOT had an active year in northeastern Pennsylvania wrapping up several big projects.

On Tuesday morning, transportation officials highlighted this year's active and completed projects in District 4, which includes Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne, and Wyoming counties.

Roughly 140 miles of roads were paved and 150 bridges were rehabilitated, repaired, or replaced.

Two people face charges after weekend shooting in Luzerne County

DENNISON TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania State Police announced that two people are in custody after a shooting in Luzerne County.

On November 30, a man knocked on his neighbor's door on Natures Lane in Dennison Township just after 5:00 p.m. and said he had been shot. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Police determined the shooting to be an isolated incident and began to search for potential suspects.
