Alleged drug apartment shut down, various narcotics seized

PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — After a month-long investigation police say they shut down a drug apartment and arrested a man for selling various narcotics.

During February, Pittston City's Special Investigation Unit said they started a narcotics investigation for 44-year-old Alonzo Poole, of Pittston, who is accused of selling various drugs.

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two men are facing charges after police say they investigated a drug trafficking operation in Scranton.

The Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office has charged Andre Powers and Merlyn Campusano-Aquino for selling fentanyl pills to a confidential informant in the city's west side.

The arrests are part of the DA's Office's "Take Back our Neighborhoods Initiative" which makes efforts to combat drug-related crime in Scranton.

‘First Friday’ event features local artists

SCRANTON, LACAKWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — For more than a decade, local talent has been showcased on the first Friday of every month in downtown Scranton.

Filling up empty easels is something that artist Sachiko does when preparing for ‘First Friday’ in Scranton, an event that features local talent.

The display is extra special, especially when it comes to a new collection.

“My collection is the ‘multiverse collection,’ exploring parallel realities and choice.”
