Proposal for controversial plastic plant withdrawn

SUGARLOAF, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A proposal for a plastic pyrolysis plant by Alterra Energy has been withdrawn.

A public records request revealed a letter from Alterra Energy to Sugarloaf Township Board of Supervisors that officially withdrew the proposal for the facility.

Man charged with 'mass casualty' threat to Little League World Series

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is arrested after police say he posted on Facebook a countdown to a "mass casualty event" during the Little League World Series.

On August 12, officers were asked to meet regarding an incident at the Little League World Series complex.

According to the South Williamsport Police Department, an employee with Securitas, Isaiah Randall, 20, of Williamsport, sent a threatening text to the Securitas supervisor stating, "Yu guys better have heavy security after the (expletive) yu pulled today because I will be back."
