Parade of boats sails in Carbon County

LAKE HARMONY, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — There was quite a display of boats in Carbon County. It was a wonderful day for the Annual Lake Harmony Parade of Boats.

Owners of seven boats decked out their vessels from top to bottom with everything from the Beatles' Yellow Submarine and Lilo and Stitch to Jaws and a Lake Harmony Fire Department-themed boat.

The fire department boat won the boat pageant's $1,000 grand prize.

Rides on display at Covington Township car show

COVINGTON TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Some splashy cars are looking extra great this weekend at a car show in Lackawanna County.

There were plenty of rides on display on Sunday at the Historic Moffat Estate in Covington Township.

More than 250 cars of all kinds registered for the William R. Kramer Memorial Scholarship Fund Car Show.

Everything from muscle cars and classic antiques to trucks and motorcycles was on display. The car show also featured food, raffles, and music.

EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police in East Stroudsburg are investigating a crash that shut down part of a road.

It happened just before 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of North Courtland and Independence Road.

Police say it happened around 12:30 p.m. Sunday on Loomis Park Road near Dundee Road.

FAIRVIEW TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A house is in ruins after a fire in Luzerne County's Mountain Top area.

It broke out shortly after 12:00 p.m. in Fairview Township on Oak Lane.

The owner tells 28/22 News that she and her family were renovating the home from the 1800s.

18-year-old dead after Montour County crash

No one was inside at the time, and no one was hurt.

A Wright Township department says it took several hours to douse the flames as the fire got into the walls.
