WATSONTOWN, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Continuing a trend in our area, EBT card fraud has been reported by Watsontown Police.
On February 13, the Watsontown Police Department received multiple reports of SNAP benefits and cash assistance compromised by way of state-issued EBT cards.
18-year-old identified as victim of fatal crash
Police say a card-skimming device was found at a local retailer in Northumberland County.
The skimmer was located and removed in January and has only targeted EBT debit cards at this point according to Watsontown Police.

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Authorities say Route 225 has reopened after a crash with downed utilities closed a portion of the road Tuesday evening.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) says Route 225 was closed in both directions between Cherry Town Road, or Route 3008, and Schwaben Creek Road, or Route 3010, in Jackson Township, Northumberland County.

(WBRE/WYOU) — As a winter storm makes its way through Pennsylvania on Saturday, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced speed restrictions on multiple roadways.
PennDOT is urging drivers to avoid unnecessary travel, but if they have to head out, speeds will be reduced to 45 miles per hour on the following roadways:
Interstate 78 in Berks, Lehigh and Northampton counties.
The entire length of Interstate 180.
Interstate 80 in Luzerne, Carbon, and Monroe Counties.

SHAMOKIN, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A Thursday night fire has left four row homes damaged.
According to Northumberland County Communications Center, crews were called to the 200 block of South Shamokin Street just after 7:30 p.m. for a reported structure fire.
When crews arrived on scene, Shamokin Fire Chief Lester Yohe says that they found two homes, 212 and 214 South Shamokin Street, with their rooves on fire.
