2 hospitalized after Northumberland County stabbing

EAST CAMERON TOWNSHIP, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two men are in the hospital after a stabbing in Northumberland County.

It happened last Friday, just before 3:30 a.m. at a home on Upper Road in East Cameron Township.

Troopers say 32-year-old Brian Koinski and 27-year-old Joshua Cohoon got into an argument over money.

Police say later that night, Cohoon went into Koinski's bedroom, stabbing him with a knife. He then turned the knife on himself, authorities added.

Two children dead after car collision with horse-drawn buggy

JACKSON TWP., NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report two children were killed after a crash involving a vehicle and a horse-drawn buggy carrying six people.

On September 28, around 8:00 p.m., a crash occurred on State Route 225 in Jackson Township involving a horse-drawn buggy and a Mini Cooper.

Arrest made after deadly shooting in gated community

The driver of the car told police they fell asleep while driving before impacting the buggy.

The six occupants of the buggy were ejected onto the road, shoulder, and embankment.

Crash closes Jackson Township road, detour in place

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Sunday a detour is in place after a crash in Northumberland County.

In the release, PennDOT advised drivers that Route 225 in Jackson Township between Mandata Road and Herndon Bypass Road, or Route 3006, is closed in both directions.

This comes after PennDOT says a crash happened in the area and a detour is in place using local roads.
