Three accused of plotting robbery through fake prostitution

SUNBURY, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Three people are facing charges after police believe they plotted a robbery with a fake prostitution scheme.

According to the Sunbury Police Department, offices were called to the 500 block of Susquehanna Avenue for a man reporting an armed robbery. The victim told police that two men robbed him at gunpoint and took $15,000 from him, police stated.

Three suspects arrested after armed robbery

SUNBURY, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Three suspects were arrested after an armed robbery in central Pennsylvania Tuesday afternoon.

Northumberland County District Attorney Mike O'Donnell says this started when police were dispatched to a house in the 500 block of Susquehanna Avenue for a reported armed robbery.

The Sunbury Police Department was called to the scene around 12:00 p.m. When they arrived, police found two individuals running from the back of the house.

Route 11 reopened after multi-vehicle crash in Northumberland County

POINT TOWNSHIP, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A crash along Route 11 closed the major highway between Danville and Northumberland, according to a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) release.

Officials say that a multi-vehicle crash was called in around 3:30 p.m. and had closed down Route 11 in both directions at the intersection of Epler Road for over four hours.

The road was reopened around 8:00 p.m., according to 511pa.

A detour using Epler Road was put in place, according to PennDOT.

Police report more EBT card fraud and skimming device

WATSONTOWN, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Continuing a trend in our area, EBT card fraud has been reported by Watsontown Police.

On February 13, the Watsontown Police Department received multiple reports of SNAP benefits and cash assistance compromised by way of state-issued EBT cards.

18-year-old identified as victim of fatal crash

Police say a card-skimming device was found at a local retailer in Northumberland County.

The skimmer was located and removed in January and has only targeted EBT debit cards at this point according to Watsontown Police.

Route 225 reopens in Northumberland County after crash

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Authorities say Route 225 has reopened after a crash with downed utilities closed a portion of the road Tuesday evening.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) says Route 225 was closed in both directions between Cherry Town Road, or Route 3008, and Schwaben Creek Road, or Route 3010, in Jackson Township, Northumberland County.

Fire destroys historic inn

According to PennDOT, the closure was put in place after a vehicle crash with downed utilities.
