Electric trucks hit the road in Milton

MILTON, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Electric trucks are making their way to one part of our area.

On Monday, Watsontown Trucking Company took to the road with its new electric vehicles.

Watsontown Trucking Company is putting the brakes on emissions with their new electric vehicles.

"So right here in Milton, we have five. We have three Volvo VNR day cabs and two Autocar jockey trucks," said Watsontown Trucking Company Director Of Operations Jared Brokenshire.

PennDOT announces speed restrictions as winter storm rolls into PA

(WBRE/WYOU) — As a winter storm makes its way through Pennsylvania on Saturday, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced speed restrictions on multiple roadways.

PennDOT is urging drivers to avoid unnecessary travel, but if they have to head out, speeds will be reduced to 45 miles per hour on the following roadways:

Interstate 78 in Berks, Lehigh and Northampton counties.

The entire length of Interstate 180.

Interstate 80 in Luzerne, Carbon, and Monroe Counties.

Fire damages four Northumberland County homes

SHAMOKIN, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A Thursday night fire has left four row homes damaged.

According to Northumberland County Communications Center, crews were called to the 200 block of South Shamokin Street just after 7:30 p.m. for a reported structure fire.

When crews arrived on scene, Shamokin Fire Chief Lester Yohe says that they found two homes, 212 and 214 South Shamokin Street, with their rooves on fire.
