MOUNT CARMEL, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say the owner of a Northumberland County car dealership is facing several charges after a reported assault and standoff Thursday night.

Mount Carmel Police Chief Brian Hollenbach told 28/22 News that 58-year-old Kulpmont man, Albert Raybuck, owner of Automotive Toy Store along Route 61, is facing multiple charges relating to an assault and standoff with police at the business Thursday night.

MILTON — A Sunbury man arrested for a shooting that occurred on Broadway Street in Milton on April 16, 2024, pleaded guilty to attempted homicide in Northumberland County Court.

ELYSBURG, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An amusement park in our region has brought thrill-filled rides, tasty food, and more to our region for almost a century.

It was a quiet Friday morning inside Knobels in Elysburg.

The family-owned park’s rides are empty, but ready to be filled with adrenaline-seekers Saturday for its 99th season opening.

“Here we are, 99 years. I mean, who would’ve thought?” said Brian Knoebel, co-owner/co-manager of Knoebels Amusement Park.

Flames broke out around 7 p.m. Thursday along Mohawk Street in Coal Township.

COAL TOWNSHIP, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Crews are on-scene of a fire in Northumberland County that started Thursday evening.

According to Northumberland County Communications Center, crews were called the scene for a reported structure fire on the 1600 block of Mohawk Street just before 7:00 p.m.

It is unknown at this time if there were any injuries.

ELYSBURG, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Amusement park fun will be back in Northumberland County in just two days. Knoebels' opening day is on Saturday with games, food, and, of course, coasters.
