Multiple shots fired leads to man facing attempted homicide

SHAMOKIN, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a man fired multiple shots at another man who was allegedly attempting to harm him over the weekend in Northumberland County.

According to the City of Shamokin Police Department, on October 5 officers were called for a report of shots fired at the intersection of North Market and East Commerce streets.

What is next for the Shamokin Military Museum

SHAMOKIN, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— On this week's Veterans Voices, an American Legion in Northumberland County has been turned into a military history museum honoring area soldiers from all wars.

But now there's concern over who will eventually take care of the thousands of pieces of memorabilia for future generations.

Visit any American Legion in NEPA, and you'll see bits of military history hanging on the walls.

But at American Legion Post 73 in Shamokin, the number of items on display is in the thousands, from historic photos to military uniforms.

Standoff leads to officers injured, including suspect

SUNBURY, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY — A standoff in Northumberland County has led to three officers getting hurt, according to police.

Police say it all stemmed from an incident on Highland Ave in Sunbury on Thursday, September 19, causing police to respond to a home where authorities say Nathan Lloyd, 37, was allegedly causing a disturbance.
