NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Court documents have been released regarding a shooting in Nanticoke where a 17-year-old was killed.
According to the search warrant, on Sunday, September 1 around 4:42 p.m., officers were called to Minden Court in Nanticoke for a gunshot victim.
Police stated once on the scene they found an 18-year-old man sitting on the steps of the house, holding the 17-year-old gunshot victim, in his arms.

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two children are injured after a fireworks mishap at La Festa Italiana.
One of the children appeared to be a toddler, the other a young teenager.
The fireworks were launched from the top of the parking garage at Linden Street and North Washington Avenue when the wind unexpectedly shifted, blowing sparks into the crowd and hitting two children.
This led the fire and police departments to immediately stop the show.

LEHMAN TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Idetown Fire Company hosted its first monthly breakfast at its new location, the Old Lehman Township Firehouse.
The event is hosted on the first Sunday of every month.
The breakfast featured freshly made eggs, bacon, french toast, pancakes, and more.
Much of the department's funding comes from these company breakfasts to help afford their bills and other expenses.

TAYLOR, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — More than 100 golfers took their swings Sunday to help local children who are critically ill.
The Third Annual Bogeys for Burkey Tournament was held in memory of Frank Burke, a Scranton native who had a positive influence on his community.
30 teams of golfers turned out at Pine Hills Golf Club in Taylor for the fundraiser.
The 37-year-old Scranton native passed away in 2021 after he was stricken ill.

NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Nanticoke Police say a young teenager was sent to the hospital with a gunshot wound Sunday afternoon.
28/22 News Gianna Galli spoke with authorities in the area of Minden Court in the Honey Pot Section of Nanticoke.
They say they were called to the scene at 3:30 p.m. Sunday after a reported shooting.
Police say a 17-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to a nearby hospital.
