Details released on Schuylkill Co. death investigation

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — More details have been released about a death that happened Monday in Schuylkill County.

According to a search warrant, the victim has been identified as 25-year-old Haley Noel Mills. Police say Mills was found dead on Monday, January 6, around 2:30 p.m. during a wellness check by a friend.

COVINGTON TWP., LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Three men have been arrested after police say they burglarized a gas station causing thousands worth of damages.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on January 2 troopers investigated a burglary at Exxon Al's Kwik Mart in Convgtinon Township and a burglary attempt at Jetz car wash.

Spa workers accused of performing sexual favors for cash

Troopers reported that the suspect stole $32 in cash, $75.81 worth of merchandise, and caused over $23,000 in damages at Exxon.

'Bedbound man' dies in fire, investigation underway

POCONO TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An investigation is underway after neighbors' attempt to rescue a man failed during a house fire.

According to the Pocono Township Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief, a house fire occurred in Pocono Township around 12:23 a.m. on Archer Lane.

"I heard a bang and then I heard a car horn, beeping ferociously. And then I heard someone scream Frank the house is on fire," said Joseph Coslar, a neighbor.

Truck company headquarters destroyed in fire

THROOP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The headquarters of a truck company in Lackawanna County has been destroyed after a fire broke out early Wednesday morning.

Rubble, smoke, and hot spots are all that remain where Bolus Truck Parts and Towing once stood for the last 55 years on Sanderson Street in Throop.

Firefighters continued to extinguish the fire several hours after it first broke out.

"All came at about a quarter of three this morning. Police got on the scene and confirmed a working fire," stated Chief Rich Chowanec of the Dickson City Fire Department.
