WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An 18-year-old could be facing charges after police say he shot himself and is not allowed to carry a weapon.
According to the Wilkes-Barre Police Department, officers were called to North Sherman Street for a shooting victim.
On the scene, officers said they found an 18-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

OLYPHANT, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Former employees of several now-defunct Lackawanna County businesses say they are seeing a high number of cancer-related deaths and other illnesses among those employees and are calling for a State Health Department investigation into a possible cancer cluster.
They reached out to then-Congressman Matt Cartwright with their concerns, who requested an investigation by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

PennDOT says I-81 is closed due to a tractor-trailer crash between Exit 223 (New Milford/Lakeside) and Exit 217 (Harford).

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are searching for a man who they say was involved in a Scranton assault that left a man unconscious.
Police say the incident happened in the 500 block of Lackawanna Avenue in the early morning hours of January 5.
According to the Scranton Police Department, officers were called for a man who was assaulted and lying unconscious on the ground.
Three accused of gas station burglary
Investigators say they identified Kenzelle Warren Smith, 30, as one of the suspects in the assault.
