Teen facing charges after stabbing in Scranton

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A teen is being charged after he allegedly stabbed another man during an argument in Scranton.

According to the Scranton Police Department, on Friday morning officers were called to a reported stabbing in the 800 block of Hickory Street.

The suspect later identified as Nymere Canada, 19, fled the scene and after a short foot chase officers were able to arrest him.

Man accused of trying to lure woman into woods, threatening family

According to the Briar Creek Township Police Department, 29-year-old Lyle Fought has an active arrest warrant for a robbery and assault that happened on August 22 in the 1100 block of Sixth Avenue.

Anyone with information on Fought's whereabouts is asked to contact police at 570-759-0354 or submit a tip on their website.

Man accused of trying to lure woman into woods, threatening family

SUNBURY, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is being charged after police say he threatened the parents of a woman he tried to lure into the woods.

According to the Sunbury Police Department, on August 28 around 3:30 p.m., officers were called to the 500 block of Race Street for a report of a suspicious man following a woman.

PD: Man hides in brush to avoid arrest in Scranton

Police stated the man, later identified as Austin Smith, 26, tried to lure the victim into the woods, exposed himself, and threatened the family members of the victim with a knife.
