LEWISBURG — The Bucknell University Department of Music will present Grammy and Emmy Award-winning pianist Gloria Cheng in a free, public recital entitled “Root Progressions,” which will feature a set of world premieres by jazz composers, as part of the Bucknell Piano Series on Monday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m., in Natalie Davis Rooke Recital Hall, Sigfried Weis Music Building.

Pianist and Professor Sezi Seskir, music; and Jean Bernard Cerin, vocalist, will perform a free, public faculty recital in Natalie Davis Rooke Recital Hall. "Liebe und Lieben" ("Love and Loving") will be a Valentine's-themed concert, considering the month of February dedicated to meditation on this subject.
The Bucknell Griot Institute for the Study of Black Lives & Cultures will present actor, vocalist and director T. Oliver Reid as a speaker in its Spring Series on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Elaine Langone Center Forum. The series is free and open to the Bucknell community, as well as the general public.
George M. Johnson, an award-winning writer, author and executive producer, will be the next speaker in the Bucknell Forum 2023-24 series, presenting on the theme “Freedom of Expression” Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in Leanne Freas Trout Auditorium (Room 100), Vaughan Literature Building. They will then engage in a limited Q&A session, where they will answer questions from Bucknell students.
MIFFLINBURG — The Union County Sheriff’s Department extradited a South Carolina man accused of violating a Protection from Abuse order by allegedly stalking a Mifflinburg woman and sending her a glitter bomb in the mail.
Bucknell’s Department of Theatre & Dance presents its annual Theatre Mainstage production, God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza. Friday, Saturday and Monday performances are at 7:30 p.m., with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday.
DANVILLE — Geisinger Authority said Wednesday that a shift in the traffic flow at Geisinger Medical Center will result in less congestion and easier travel through the overhead canopy at Bush Pavilion, the hospital’s main entrance.
