Search for Powerball winner, lottery ticket expiring soon

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Alert! Players check your tickets! A Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball® ticket sold in Lycoming County will expire soon.

According to Pennsylvania Lottery, an unclaimmed Powerball® with Power Play® ticket worth $150,000 from a December 11 drwawiing will expire soon.

The unclaimed winning ticket was sold at Weis Markets in Montgomery. The ticket matched four of the five white balls drawn, 1-24-27-31-62, and the red Powerball® 20 to win $150,000.

WILKES-BARRE TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Three people are wanted after police say they distracted a woman at Walmart, stole her wallet, and spent thousands on her cards.

The Wilkes-Barre Township Police Department is investigating a theft at Walmart where three people used a stolen credit card at Best Buy and Target.

On October 23 the victim’s wallet was stolen while shopping at Walmart. Investigators say the suspects distracted the victim and stole her wallet from inside her purse.

Man accused of growing weed in basement

BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man was arrested after police say they found pounds of weed growing in his basement.

In July 2024, the Bloomsburg Police Department was called to the 800 block of Railroad Street to help Columbia County Adult Probation officers.

While probation officers were checking on a person, they said marijuana was discovered growing in the basement of the house. Police say they learned 33-year-old Isiah Blackman was growing marijuana inside the home.

(WBRE/WYOU) — Carbondale will host the inaugural Carbondalien Festival on Saturday and the celebration is based on an out-of-this-world series of events that happened in the small Lackawanna County city 50 years ago.

New juvenile rehabilitation center to open in central Pa.

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Lycoming County officials today unveiled plans for a Juvenile Justice Center.

District Attorney Tom Marino is spearheading the project which he described as much needs and long overdue.

The proposed 124-bed residential placement facility will offer full rehab and secure treatment for boys and girls on a 67-acre wooded rural site.

It will include its own courtroom and law offices and complete counseling for juveniles who run in trouble with the law.

Man sentenced for luring, exposing himself to child

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — A Tamaqua man has been sentenced for luring a child near his car and exposing himself.

District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan announced that 62-year-old Blaine Alan Arner of Tamaqua was sentenced for an indecent exposure case in Lynn Township, Lehigh County in March 2024.

Arner was ordered to serve 7 ½-15 years in prison after a hearing on November 7.
