SCOTT TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Two state troopers who were recently injured in the line of duty were honored at a ceremony ahead of Lakeland's football game against Wyoming Area this evening.
Troopers Joseph Perechinsky and William Jenkins were both shot twice during an ambush while on the job in Thompson Township last month.
Friday's ceremony honored the pair for their courage and sacrifice to the community, as well as a number of veterans and fallen state trooper Bryon Dickson, who was killed in the line of duty in 2014.
