VP Vance touts no tax on OT and historic tax cuts on visit

WEST PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Vice President J.D. Vance was in Luzerne County and talked about the so called "Big Beautiful Bill" legislation that continues to be the center of controversy.

The I-Team's Andy Mehalshick joins us with a recap on what was discussed during his speech.

About 300 people were inside Don's Machine Shop.

The vice-president highlighted The Big Beautiful Bill that he says helps working families have a better quality of life by reducing inflation.

Protestors and supporters show up for VP Vance's visit

WEST PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— With the vice president's visit to NEPA, came groups of supporters and protestors.

Some people came out to support, others to protest.

How traffic and locals were impacted during Vance's visit

WEST PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Anytime the second in command comes to NEPA, traffic and road closures are bound to cause tie-ups.

In preparation for Vice President J.D. Vance's visit in Luzerne County, borough workers and Pennsylvania State Police set up rolling roadblocks in West Pittston.

Several roads were closed for the Vice President's arrival, forcing locals to reroute or head in the opposite direction they needed.

Week four of Hunger Free Summer kicks off

WEST PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Making sure area children don't go to bed hungry is why our successful Hunger Free Summer campaign is back for its third year.

We are partnering with local Gerrity's The Fresh Grocer and Gerrity's Ace Hardware stores to fight childhood hunger. Week four of our campaign is underway in West Pittston and that's where 28/22's Candice Kelly was collecting donations.

Wyoming County park closing due to littering

EATON TOWNSHIP, WYOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A popular community park is closing for the foreseeable future after being overloaded with visitors and trash.

The big issue, the trash those visitors are leaving behind and what people living there are calling a lack of respect for their community.

Dozens of residents say they're fed up with what's happening at their beloved park and say it's become a health and safety concern.

Now that the park is closed, the question is: is there a solution?

This is what Wyoming County residents say is making them angry.
