WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man was arrested after police say he assaulted an 11-year-old and threw a baked potato at him during an argument.
According to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department, on Friday, October 4 around 1:30 a.m. officers were called to Scott Street for a report of a domestic dispute.
Once on the scene, officers said a woman claimed her 11-year-old son, and Lawrence Bowman, 49, of Wilkes-Barre, got into an argument about her son being disrespectful towards Bowman.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating an incident where a woman was robbed at gunpoint in the Sherman Hills Apartment complex.
According to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department, on October 3 around 11:39 p.m., officers were called to 300 Parkview Circle for a reported robbery.
Once on the scene, the victim stated that she had arrived at Sherman Hills Apartment Complex to visit a friend.

HARTLEY TWP., UNION COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report a cattle truck lost control and crashed, killing around 30-40 cows as a result.
According to PSP, on October 3 troopers were called to the 2000 block of State Route 45 in Hartley Township, Union County for a vehicle crash.
Two wanted on vehicle theft charges in Luzerne County
Through further investigation, troopers discovered that a cattle truck hauling around 90 cows was navigating a curve on the roadway and lost control.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY — Police say a Wilkes-Barre man has been charged with 40 counts of child pornography and other related crimes.
According to a criminal complaint, on September 25, police investigated a CyberTip relating to child sexual abuse material. Police say they found Kevin Ramirez, 28, linked to the accounts relating to the alleged child pornography.

HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they are looking for two men wanted for various vehicle theft charges.
According to Hazleton City Police Department, on October 5, 2023 around 2:00 a.m., officers pulled over a Honda CRV that had a fake temporary tag from Georgia.
Officers identified the three men in the car as Luis Pena-Sanchez, Alejandro Valerio-Perez, and the driver Jeremy Amurys-Ferradas.

The Rotary Club of Dallas and the Dallas Intermediate School have teamed up to raise money to build a boundless playground.

LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — On Thursday, the Pennsylvania Attorney General is urging Luzerne County's manager to abide by the law regarding a controversial decision to remove mail-in ballot drop boxes.
The decision to remove them came back in September and has been under investigation.
The Attorney General sent a letter Thursday instructing Romilda Crocamo to comply with the law that she can't overrule the Board of Election's decision to keep the drop boxes.
If she does not comply, she could face civil and criminal consequences.
