Visit Luzerne County has announced the return of Rockin' the River for its seventh year, starting July 11.

WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The family of the four-month-old Luzerne County boy who was allegedly assaulted by his mother is speaking out Thursday.

The mother, 20-year-old Jazmine Clapper, remains locked up, accused of assaulting her son during an argument in a Mountain Top home.

The infant suffered a skull fracture, brain bleed, and other broken bones.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Visit Luzerne County announced the summer concert lineup for their 2025 "Rockin' the River" concert series Thursday.

The concerts, which start in July, have become one of the county's most popular summer activities. The series started in 2019, and crowd sizes have ranged from 3,000 to 6,000 people for each show.

Rockin' the River will feature three acts that have never played at the venue in the past.

NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — He was entrusted with money that was raised to support a high school football team, but he spent that money, tens of thousands of dollars, on himself, so says Luzerne County prosecutors.

47-year-old Sterling Kepp was president of the Nanticoke 12th Man Football Booster Club.

On Wednesday, he was in court to face a theft charge.

Sterling Kepp is heading to Luzerne County court for a possible trial.

Booster club members say he stole much more than money, he violated the trust of the entire community.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The coroner's office has stated a man hit by a car in Wilkes-Barre Monday evening has died.

The Luzerne County Coroner's office confirmed with 28/22 News that 54-year-old Michael Walter died at the hospital after being hit by a car on April 14.

Emergency crews were called to North Pennsylvania Avenue and East Union Street in Wilkes-Barre just after 8:00 p.m. for a report of a person hit by a vehicle.
