ROSS TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A chase between a vehicle and troopers is currently under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.
PSP says troopers from Troop P Wilkes-Barre and Shickshinny were engaged in a chase on Thursday in Ross Township. Troopers lost sight of the vehicle around Grassy Pond Road, and the pursuit was terminated.
Man accused of breaking into car held for hit-and-run investigation
The vehicle was later located in the area and seized. Police say there is no threat to the public.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The city of Wilkes-Barre is holding an event to allow residents to get rid of e-waste and private documents.
The mayor's office announced a drive-through e-recycling and paper shredding event for city residents.
The event will be held on Monday, October 6, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., as well as Thursday, October 9, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Wilkes-Barre Public Works Facility, according to the mayor's office.

That's exactly what the Diamonds Downtown event grand prize was all about tonight at the Westmoreland Club in Wilkes-Barre.
The event raises money for the Luzerne County Dress for Success program. This nonprofit organization helps local women secure clothing for job interviews and provides them with the tools to secure their next employment opportunity.
To date, Dress for Success has helped 3,000 economically challenged women in Nepal.

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man was arrested after allegedly attacking another man with an aluminum baseball bat on Wednesday.
Officers were dispatched to a home on South Franklin Street in Wilkes-Barre around 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the release.
The victim told police he had gotten into a verbal argument with 33-year-old Alijah Grier-Wright of Wilkes-Barre.

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is facing charges after allegedly firing multiple shots inside a house in Scranton on Wednesday night.
Police were dispatched to Deacon Street in Scranton after multiple neighbors reported hearing shots being fired rapidly inside a residence. It was also reported that the suspect, Alex Javier Ferreira, had a revolver and had threatened people with the weapon in the past, the criminal complaint states.
