POTTSVILLE, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Pottsville is definitely enjoying the luck of the Irish. The city had some pretty decent weather on Saturday for its annual Saint Patrick's parade.

The unmistakable sound of a pipe band, a marching band, and a pile of people in downtown Pottsville mean only one thing: the Pottsville Saint Patrick's Parade.

"The Saint Paddy's Day Parade is lit, you know. I had to wear green to pop out," a parade-goer said.

More than a hundred four-legged friends celebrated Saint Pawtrick's Day in Luzerne County to benefit Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.

After leading separate lives for 25 years, World War II Veteran Haydn Evans and childhood friend Jean Stacey show that celebrating love is never too late.

Used and new prom dresses lined a school gym on Saturday in Wilkes-Barre, all for just 20$ each to benefit a school's positive behavior program.

PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— It was a day filled with fresh baked treats in Luzerne County.

Coffee Inclusive's new bakery shop held its grand opening this afternoon in Pittston.

Employees were recognized and dignitaries and representatives were also there for the ribbon cutting.

As part of the fun and celebration, Founder and CEO of Coffee Inclusive, Frank Bartoli, got a pie to the face from his daughter Ellie.

She's also one of the employees.

HUGHESTOWN, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Two witnesses walking by an apartment building fire stepped in to stop the flames before things got out of hand.

According to Hughestown Fire Department, crews were called to the 200 block of Parsonage Street around 4:30 p.m.

Officials say that two people driving by the fire had fire extinguishers on them to help quell the flames early.

That, and a quick response by the Hughestown Fire Department helped prevent further damage of the building that houses three apartments.

KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The "Pi" that students at Good Shepherd Academy are singing about is not a slice of apple pie.

It is "Pi day" to celebrate a circle's circumference of 3.14.

March 14 is pi day because it is the third month and the 14th day.

7th and 8th graders here marked the occasion by experimenting with paper bottle rockets since pi applies to the round pvc launching pipes.

Students also tackled math problems and enjoyed slices of pizza pies for lunch!

NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The investigation into a firebombing at the office of a state lawmaker in Luzerne County is moving forward, so says the Police Chief.

The incident, which was caught on camera, occurred on the night of February 19th at State Representative Alec Ryncavage's office in Nanticoke.
