Trunk or Treat event draws over 1000 kids in Lackawanna County

DICKSON CITY, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Dozens of families got out for a fun fall event this afternoon in Lackawanna County.

NEPA Strong held their fifth annual ultimate trunk or treat and Halloween marketplace today at the Circle Drive In.

The organization's goal is to bring local businesses and people together to support and empower each other.

MOOSIC, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The world's largest fundraiser to fight Alzheimer's disease stepped off this morning in Lackawanna County.

The Alzheimer's Association's Greater Pennsylvania Chapter held their annual walk to end Alzheimer's Saturday at PNC Field.

It's an event that happens in cities nationwide.

Here in our area, more than 700 people came out to participate.

Crews battled house fire in Butler Township

BUTLER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Multiple crews from Luzerne County were on-scene battling a house fire that started Saturday night.

According to Luzerne County 911 Center, crews were called to the unit block of Charlwood Drive around 7:30 p.m. for a reported structure fire.

One dead, one flown to hospital after car into tractor-trailer

The fire was quickly upgraded to a second alarm structure prompting calls for additional units.

Officials say that there are no reported injuries or entrapment inside the home.
