One dead, one flown to hospital after car into tractor-trailer

KLINE TOWNSHIP, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — One is dead after a car crashed into a tractor-trailer in Kline Township.

According to the Schuylkill County Communication Center, a call came in around 12:30 a.m. for a car into a tractor-trailer with entrapment on the 1200 block of Mile Hill Road in Kline Township.

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — PennDOT has released upcoming lane restrictions on Interstate 81 Northbound and Southbound in Lackawanna County.

Starting Monday, October 21 Interstate 81 Northbound and Southbound from Moosic to Fleetville there will be upcoming lane restrictions, officials note.

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — PennDOT has announced upcoming lane restrictions on I-81 Northbound and Southbound.

According to PennDOT the lane restriction on Interstate 81 northbound and southbound in Wilkes-Barre will take place Monday, October 21 to perform bridge deck patching between 5:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

October 21 and 22 – Interstate 81 southbound from mile marker 167-169.

October 23 and 24 – Interstate 81 northbound from mile marker 168-169.

Shooting investigation underway in Luzerne County

HANOVER TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A shooting investigation is underway in Hanover Township.

According to the Hanover Township Police Department, they are investigating to shooting that took place at the intersection of Sively Street and Kings Road around 11:45 p.m.

Police say while on scene, officers heard additional shots being fired somewhere in the vicinity of Colonels Road and Keystone Road.

SUNBURY — Vandals struck a Sunbury mink farm for the second time in a little more than a year late Friday, releasing 500 to 900 mink. Unlike the previous incident, two people have been charged, according to Northumberland County District Attorney Mike O’Donnell.

ROCKEFELLER TWP., NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials state hundreds of Mink were released from a Mink Farm in Northumberland County.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police on October 19 around 12:53 a.m. PSP Stonington responded to the Mink Farm on State Route 89 for a report of two individuals caught on camera releasing mink, which resulted in 200 released mink.

A press release was sent out by the Fur Commission USA stating that 700 mink were released and most of the mink are now being recovered.
