HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Crews were at the scene of an abandoned church fire in Hazleton Saturday night.
Hazleton City Fire Department Deputy Chief Shawn Jones says that they were called around 9:30 p.m. for a report of a structure fire on the 100 block of West Green Street that was quickly bumped up to a third alarm.

MAYFIELD BOROUGH, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The coroner has released information after a fatal motorcycle crash overnight in Lackawanna County.
According to the Lackawanna County Coroner, 21-year-old Andrew Heid of Peckville was fatally injured just after 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning in Mayfield Borough on Route 107 when he lost control of his motorcycle.

SWOYERSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A weekend-long festival in Luzerne County is serving up thousands of chicken wings with a side of community. The Annual Swoyersville Chicken Wing Fling is getting close to wrapping up for day one.
Organizers say the festival continues to grow, now with a dozen wing vendors, estimating to sell around 40,000 wings to hungry guests.
The event is in its third year, raising money to update and make local parks more inclusive for families.
