Man accused of hitting police car while fleeing

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Scranton man hit a cop car while attempting to flee an arrest for alleged drug-related crimes, according to police.

Rashawn Edwards, 44, was being arrested for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance when he attempted to flee from police, as stated in the criminal complaint.

Investigators say Edwards reversed his car into the front of a marked police vehicle when trying to flee the scene after officers turned their sirens and lights on.

DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a Dunmore man has been arrested for possession and dissemination of child sexual abuse material.

On September 17, state police, along several other other agencies followed up on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which said a social media user was in possession of, and disseminating material containing child sex abuse.

Vice President Harris and former President Trump are locked in tight contests in seven battleground states as the race for the White House enters the home stretch, according to polling released Thursday.

The survey from Emerson College Polling and The Hill found Trump edging out Harris in Arizona (49 percent to 48 percent); Georgia (50 percent to 47 percent); Pennsylvania (48 percent to 47 percent); and Wisconsin (49 percent to 48 percent.)

(WHTM) - The race for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania remains tight between incumbent U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D) and Republican Dave McCormick.

A new Emerson College Polling/The Hill shows Casey with a 5% lead in the race with 47% support to McCormick's 42%. The poll found 12% of voters are undecided with less than two months until Election Day on November 5.

Casey has consistently led in the race since he and McCormick won their largely uncontested spring primary races.
