6th Annual Clifford Parkfest celebration

CLIFFORD TOWNSHIP. SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Rain could not stop the fun at an annual celebration in Susquehanna County.

The sound of an Indian flute was just part of what attendees got to enjoy craft and food vendors, raffles, and a performance by the Mountain View School Band.

The festival features a new theme every year with this year's being native American heritage.

The festival included a traveling museum with exhibits showcasing traditional native american clothing, tools, and artwork.

Lackawanna County's Fleetville Fall Fair

BENTON TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The fifth annual Fleetville Fall Fair kicked off Saturday at the Fleetville Volunteer Fire Department.

The fair featured over one hundred vendors, bounce houses, a petting zoo, and even live music. None of this would be possible without the over 150 volunteers from both the fire department and our local community.

One volunteer told 28/22 News the event is vital in bringing the small community together every year.

Luzerne County's 16th Annual Hazleton Italian Festival

HAZEL TOWNSHIP. LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The rain did not stop other outdoor festivals from happening.

Festival goers gathered at Hazle Township Community Park the 16th Annual Hazleton Italian Festival.

The event featured a record-breaking 170-basket raffles, a dunk tank, live music, free rides, and a variety of authentic Italian cuisine.

Luzerne County businesses banned from selling booze

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Back home several local bars and pubs have been stopped from selling alcohol.

They blame it on a big mix-up with the state and claim it is costing them big business.

We are still learning more as to why exactly the alcohol ban has been put into place.But one owner says it could not have come at a worse time.

Empty alcohol shelves and signs were posted everywhere inside and outside Elmer Sudds in Wilkes-Barre.

The bar's owner, John Yencha, says he hasn't been able to sell alcohol at his bar all week.

Coal Township agrees to pay back $290,000 to Northumberland County for legal fees

COAL TOWNSHIP — Northumberland County Commissioners will decide whether to accept a proposal of $290,000 being offered by Coal Township Commissioners after a judge ruled the township owed the county the money from disputed permit fees.
