PA Lottery player wins $1,000 a week for life

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — A Pennsylvania Lottery player in Luzerne County has won $1,000 a week for life.

The Cash4Life® winning ticket worth $1,000 a week for life, or $1 million cash, was sold in Luzerne County on Thursday, September 5.

The ticket correctly matched all five balls drawn, 2-22-31-48-56. The selling retailer, Fuel On in Drums, will earn a $10,000 bonus.

The Cash4Life® multi-state game has awarded its 16th $1 million prize in Pennsylvania since the Pennsylvania Lottery joined it in April 2015.

Judge delays Trump hush money sentencing until after election  

A New York judge on Friday delayed former President Trump’s sentencing until Nov. 26, a ruling that ensures Trump will not face any criminal punishment until after the election. 

Trump has employed delay as a habitual legal strategy, hoping to retake the White House and halt his prosecutions.  

He already had successfully dismissed or tied up three of his four criminal cases in pretrial issues until after the election. Friday’s ruling hands Trump a similar victory in his hush money case, the only one to have so far to have culminated in a guilty verdict.  

PA introduces texting 911 for emergencies

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) unveiled a new program, "Text-to-911", that allows texting 911 for emergencies across all Pennsylvania counties.

PEMA states on its website that voice calls are preferred and this feature is directed towards individuals who have speech or hearing impairments, those having emergencies that render them unable to speak, or instances where making noise may endanger the caller.

PD: Wegmans retail theft suspect wanted for stealing alcohol, crabs

DICKSON CITY, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A retail theft suspect is wanted for stealing alcohol and crabs from Wegmans.

According to the Dickson City Police Department, on September 5, a suspect was seen fleeing Wegmans with a bottle of wine and a bag of crab legs.

Man wanted for allegedly intimidating a witness

Police say the suspect left the area in a white BMW and is possibly from the East Mountain area of Scranton.
