Uptown Music Collective students will pay tribute to Irish rock ahead of St. Patrick's Day.

The Uptown Music Collective will bring a one-night-only musical experience, “Rattle and Hum: A Celebration of U2 and Irish Rock,” to the Community Arts Center in Williamsport, on March 16 at 7:30 p.m., just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.

Charges filed in deadly 2023 crash

MOUNT CARMEL, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A woman involved in a deadly crash was in Northumberland County court Wednesday.

On October 16, 2023, officials say a woman and two children were driving on State Route 487 near Industrial Park Road when a Nissan Rogue on the other side of the road swerved into their lane and caused a head-on crash. 

As a result of the crash, a 13-year-old passenger died and the woman driving suffered serious injuries.

Three arrested for alleged burglaries in abandoned Luzerne County home

DURYEA, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police have arrested three men who they say ransacked an abandoned home multiple times in Luzerne County.

According to the Duryea Police Department, the following men were arrested after being found inside a home in the 1300 block of Main Street around 10:00 a.m. Wednesday;

Benjamin Stephens, 44, of Swoyersville

Kevin Cortazar, 40, of Throop

Mark Donovan, 54, of Kingston

Woman in custody for deadly shooting in front of TGI Friday's

LOYALSOCK TWP., LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report a woman was taken into custody in connection to a deadly shooting that killed a 15-year-old boy in front of TGI Friday's.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on Wednesday a woman identified as Johneice Francin Legare, 37, of Williamsport, was taken into custody on hindering apprehension charges.

PD: Pair used stolen/cloned food assistance cards throughout East Coast

WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Wilkes-Barre Township police arrested a pair of people they say used stolen/cloned food assistance cards throughout the East Coast.

On Wednesday around 2:40 p.m., police say Target Loss Prevention called officers for two people who were known to have used stolen/cloned food assistance cards in the past.
