Dumped puppies on the loose in the Back Mountain

LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge is warning residents to be aware of dumped puppies on the loose near the Dallas area.

Monday afternoon, officials with the Blue Chip Farm stated in a Facebook post that they had taken in four Mastiff- mix puppies, all from the same litter, that were dumped in numerous spots in the area. They're asking drivers to be aware of the dogs when driving on Chase Road.

They ask residents to not go out looking for the puppies as they are scared and will not let humans near them.

Experiencing Fall foliage while whitewater rafting in the Poconos

JIM THORPE, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It’s a busy tourism season for local businesses in the Poconos as summer winds down.

It was a peaceful morning Monday on the Lehigh River in Jim Thorpe. Greenery fills the mountains, but some leaves are already starting to make the change, a reminder that Fall is around the corner.

"The Lehigh Gorge is the best place to see the Fall foliage. There’s no traffic, no cars, you don’t have to worry about any of that," stated Sierra Fogal, operations manager, of Pocono Whitewater.

Man accused of indecently touching child at Walmart

TEXAS TWP., WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is facing charges after state police say he was caught recording and touching a child at Walmart.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on August 24, around 8:30 p.m., troopers were called to Walmart on Old Willow Avenue to investigate the indecent behavior of a man working for a third party at Walmart.
