NWS issues Tornado Watch for Central PA

(WBRE/WYOU) — The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Tornado Watch for most of Central Pennsylvania, which has since been lifted.

According to the NWS, a Tornado Watch was issued for Clinton, Lycoming, Snyder, Tioga, and Union Counties.

Power outages impact thousands across PA

This watch was in effect until 7:00 p.m. and has since expired.

Home ruled a total loss after Sunday morning fire

NEWTON TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— An early morning fire destroyed a home in Lackawanna County with heavy winds making it difficult on first responders.

According to Lackawanna County Communications Center, crews responded to the 2100 block of Laurel Hill Road just after 3:00 a.m. for a reported structure fire.

When crews arrived on-scene, Chief LaCoe, of the Newton Ransom Volunteer Fire Company, stated that the house was fully involved with fire and smoke pouring out the windows and roof of the two-story home.
