Mom facing charges after allegedly driving son to fight

WEST PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A Luzerne County mother is facing criminal charges after police say she drove her child to fight another child.

The fight happened at a local park last week and police say that kind of behavior has consequences.

In this video, you will soon seen what a mother doesn't do while her son beats up another kid at a Luzerne County park.

'Praying for Love' on the National Day of Prayer

CARBONDALE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Thursday is the National Day of Prayer.

It's held each year on the first Thursday of May, and invites everyone to set aside their differences and pray.

Prayer means something different to everyone, but to the people I spoke with, it meant community.

Heads bowed, sheet music in hand, and hearts, filled with prayer.

Roughly 80 people showed up to the Greater Carbondale Area Ministerium's 22nd annual National Day of Prayer.

Ten displaced after apartment fire

CARBONDALE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Carbondale Fire Department has stated that ten people and some pets in three separate apartments have been displaced after a Thursday evening fire.

According to Carbondale Fire Chief John Piwowarczyk, crews were called to the unit block of River Street just before 5:00 p.m. for a reported structure fire.

Two arrested in connection with New York homicide

Piwowarczyk states that a piece of sheet metal falling from from a roof latched onto a high-tension pole wire energizing the whole building.
