Ready-to-eat meals sold at Walmart and Kroger recalled amid investigation into multiple deaths

(WJW) – Some ready-to-eat meals sold nationally at Walmart and Kroger stores have been recalled as public health officials investigate a deadly Listeria outbreak, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has announced.

According to the FSIS, as of June 17, 2025, the outbreak has resulted in three reported deaths and one "fetal loss," as well as 17 people sickened in 13 states.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld Tennessee’s ban on puberty blockers and hormone treatments for transgender minors in a 6-3 decision along ideological lines that stands to impact similar laws passed in roughly half the country. 

Rejecting a challenge mounted by the Biden administration, the high court ruled Tennessee’s law does not amount to sex discrimination that requires a higher level of constitutional scrutiny, removing a key line of attack that LGBTQ rights advocates have used to try to topple similar laws.

PSP hunt suspects after stolen vehicle crash on I-80/81

BUTLER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The manhunt continues after the incident that resulted in the closure of parts of Interstates 80 and 81 near Hazleton. Police are searching for two suspects in connection with this incident. Two other suspects are already in custody.

It all began at about 4:00 a.m. in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill County.

Police spotted a stolen vehicle from Beaver Meadows. It was stolen several days ago.
